Old Stone Mill

Adams, MA

2016

Jones Whitsett Architects worked with artists Leni Fried and engineer Mike Augspurger on plans for the development of the Old Stone Mill Center for Creative Arts and Engineering at this 1865 granite mill once known as the Gateway to Adams, MA. The project is an exercise in slow-design in that Mike and Leni want to study the building's natural characteristics to see how it can be used to optimize onsite energy production and optimal use of space, light, and water. Old Stone Mill Center for Creative Arts and Engineering aims to offer space for community bike repair, sewing and print making workshops.
